Janet Jackson just won’t let up! The multi-talented entertainer earned around $44 million from her eighth concert tour, State of the World tour.
According to Ebony.com, the highly successful tour, originally called the Unbreakable World tour, started in 2017. Pollstar, a concert platform, listed it as the Year-End Top 100 Worldwide tours in 2017, earning around $33 million. It joined the ranks with tours from some of our favorite artists such as Bruno Mars, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
The 52-year-old artist postponed the rest of the tour in 2017 after having her son, Eissa Al Mana, but she headed back on the road soon after. It made the Pollstar’s list again in 2018, for the “Year-End Top 200 North American Tours,” ranking at 108 and receiving an additional $11 million.
It looks like Jackson is maintaining that same energy in 2019 as well!
The five-time Grammy winner announced her Las Vegas residency called Metamorphosis last month.
She made the announcement on Instagram saying:
? Hey u guys, I’m so excited to announce my new Vegas residency, “Metamorphosis”! A celebration of my journey and the 30th anniversary of #RhythmNation! I’ll be at the @parkmgm in May, July & August. Link in bio. ? #MetamorphosisVegas
Jackson is set to perform at Park MGM for 15 shows from May to August 2019 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her 1989 multi-platinum album Rhythm Nation 1814.
It is Jackson’s fourth studio album.
The pre-sale tickets for the residency went on sale on Feb 27 and general tickets went on sale on March 2.
We’re pretty sure this will be a residency to remember.
