Lauryn Hill’s cousin now owes the singer more than $70,000 and a court has ordered him to present his bank records or face arrest for failing to do so.

A New Jersey judge sided with Lauryn on Monday, saying her cousin, Gerald Hill, had violated her rights for refusing to turn over his bank records. The judge gave Gerald 10 days to comply or warned that a warrant would be issued for his arrest, according to The Blast.

Lauryn had loaned her cousin $56,000 back in 2017, but she had him sign a contract in which she stipulated that as long as he paid the full amount back by Sept. 15, 2017, she would not charge him any interest. However, the contract states Lauryn could impose an annual 10 percent simple interest rate if he didn’t repay the loan by the September deadline. In her lawsuit, Lauryn said Gerald had not paid one red cent.

“Defendant did not repay any portion of the loan on or before September 15, 2017, triggering the interest rate provision of the Loan Agreement. Furthermore, despite the demand for repayment, to date Defendant has not repaid any of the $65,000 principal due and owing under the loan agreement or any of the interest amounts that became due and owing following Defendant’s non-payment,” the suit reads, according to The Blast.

The breach of contract lawsuit is for the $65,000 plus attorney fees, totaling $72,886.62. When Gerald failed to show up for court in August, even though he was served, a judge granted a default judgement to Lauryn in the full amount.

Lauryn brought Gerald back to court this month, this time asking a judge to demand that he respond to subpoenas to turn over his bank records, according to The Blast. So far, he has not done so.
