“Tamar has been transferred to another facility for further evaluation and treatment. Out of respect for Tamar’s privacy and that of her family, no additional information is available at this time,” the spokesperson told The Blast.
It was added, “The outpouring of support that Tamar has received is a testament to the light that she brings to people.”
Sources close to the reality star said she is now alert and conscious after she was reportedly found by her boyfriend David Adefeso in her room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Los Angeles on July 16. The LAPD would only confirm that an individual was transported from that location to the hospital at around 9:45 p.m.
Braxton and Adefeso had been set to livestream their Youtube show Coupled & Quarantined. However, the channel alerted fans that Braxton was “under the weather and not feeling well.”
As theGrio previously reported, it is alleged that Braxton attempted to kill herself after consuming an unknown amount of prescription pills while also drinking alcohol. Sources told Page Six that she was upset with WE tv and likened the executives to “cruel white slave masters” who were “destroying a great Black family” for the sake of ratings in a letter.
Braxton Family Values aired primarily on WE tv from 2011 to 2019. Tamar allegedly contemplated taking her own life because the network exploited their family secrets. In particular, the singer was upset that her childhood sexual abuse became fodder for drama.
Braxton allegedly wrote, “the day you dug up a secret I’d never shared with anyone, a secret I was so ashamed to talk about that I hid it even from my own mom: the fact that I had been assaulted and raped repeatedly from age 6 to age 16, sometimes multiple times a day.”
The revelation was made in front of 100 crew members and she claimed, “You broke me that day and I considered ending my own life then for the shame I felt!”
