As a guest on the Hip Hop Uncensored podcast, the 54-year-old actress discusses working with the pair. According to Neal, the work environment resulted in her quitting her leading role. She claims problems the married couple had at home impacted the energy on set.
“If someone is unhappy, they spread that unhappiness to others. I wasn’t happy on that set because people treated me in a way I could tell they were unhappy. If you’re unhappy in something, the bottom line is it’s their marriage and they decided what their marriage is going to be,” she remarks when asked her opinion on the Smith’s current scandal.
Recently, the celebrity couple admitted to their marital issues including a break where Mrs. Smith owned up to an “entanglement” with R&B singer August Alsina.
She continues, “I’m not involved in their marriage. They know what’s going on in their marriage. If they decide that they’re going to come together and that’s the type of marriage they want, and they’re okay with that, we are not able to judge.”

While she is adamant in her stance that their marriage is not for her approval, she does share how their personal disputes impacted her career.
“What I am gonna judge is if I come to work for people and they bring that unhappiness on others like myself. I felt that and received that on that set and that’s sad, ” says the Scream 2 actress.
The television show All Of Us was created and executive produced by the Smith’s. Neal starred alongside Duane Martin and LisaRaye McCoy on UPN and later The CW aired comedy series. The show lasted four seasons, running from 2003 to 2007.
“I am a very hardworking girl. I had just come from doing a successful show for four years, with The Hughleys. I’ve done tons of movies...a whole lot of stuff before I did that set. I’m coming to that set to work and excited. I’m like, aye, I’m about to do something,” Neal says.
“These people are cool, these people are great, these people are so much fun. It’s going to be a great fun environment. I’ve never worked in an environment with these two individuals. .. I’m still sad that it was so not like that.”
Ultimately the emotional turmoil resulted in her early exit.
