Following her Netflix debut on The Comedy Lineup Part 1, Emmy award-nominated Saturday Night Live writer Sam Jay is back with her first hour-long Netflix original comedy special. Filmed at The Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia, the comedian delivers the witty, candid and raw brand of comedy that earned her recognition as a standout comic.

The Boston-bred comic filmed the special at Atlanta’s The Masquerade pre-coronavirus and announced the good news on social media last week.
“Aw damn this little mother f–ker cute and she grew up to have a Netflix special,” she posted along with an adorable snapshot of herself as a child. “Wow 3 in the Morning drops August 4th hoooooeeeeesssss!!! Awww damn.”
While some comedy fans may not be too familiar with her work, Sam Jay has been making waves since 2011. Her talents earned her an Emmy for SNL, writing jokes for the likes of Eddie Murphy. She made her late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live and was featured alongside Michelle Buteau on Netflix’s The Comedy Lineup Part 1 in 2018–the same year she released her own comedy album, Donna’s Daughter.
Sam Jay’s knack for authenticity is sure to shine in this comedy special and it’s just what we need to help us laugh through the hard times we continue to endure.
