97-year-old North Carolina woman beats coronavirus
After testing positive for the virus, Tyson was treated at a local hospital.
After contracting coronavirus and spending three weeks in the hospital, 97-year-old, Rosa Tyson, has made a full recovery.
“I feel good,” Tyson told NBC News. These three words are a dramatic improvement from her condition in June. According to NBC News, she contracted the virus in late June and began experiencing fever, chills, loss of appetite, loss of taste, and loss of smell.
Tyson’s family said her coronavirus symptoms began after Tyson was exposed to a relative who had the virus.

“I knew she was a fighter and I knew how strong she was,” said Daniel Haddock, Tyson’s son.
“Do all you can to go in there to see them because when you turn the older people loose, they lose faith. Their family is the one that keeps them going,” he continued.
Tyson was treated at a local hospital, but according to her son, she was dehydrated after only a few days in their care. He took it upon himself to check his mother into the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Novant Medical treated Tyson with IV fluids, NBC News reported. Haddock visited the hospital three times a day for the three weeks his mother was a patient. For each visit, he was required to wear personal protective equipment.
Haddock fed Tyson and provided other additional care. Tyson was discharged on July 24th.
