Jared Kushner says NBA players are ‘very fortunate’ to take off from work

Appearing as a guest on CNBC‘s Squawk Box on Thursday, the president’s son-in-law was asked for the White House stance on the Milwaukee Bucks deciding not to play in support of justice for Jacob Blake.
“Look, I think that the NBA players are very fortunate that they have the financial position where they’re able to take a night off from work without having to have the consequences to themselves financially,” he says.
“They have that luxury, which is great.”
During the brief yet full conversation, Kushner also states the NBA should move from slogans into actual action, uplifting Donald Trump.
“If you look at President Trump’s record…he passed historic criminal justice reform,” Kushner continues.

In another conversation with Politico, the senior White House advisor hopes to work together with Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James in efforts towards social equality.
“If LeBron James reached out to the White House, or we could reach out to him, we’re happy to talk with him and say, ‘Look, let’s both agree on what we want to accomplish and let’s come up with a common pathway to get there,’” Kushner says.
He confirms he has yet to reach out to the Akron-bred athlete but says he will today.
The NBA did initiate a strike on August 26, however, the players have agreed to resume the series according to theGrio. Active players remained confined to the quarantine bubble. Gameplay is set to proceed this weekend.
