Trump supporter Vernon Jones crowd surfs at rally

Although President Donald Trump’s latest rally in Georgia is sure to be a super-spreader event, Rep. Vernon Jones decided throw caution to the wind and do a crowd surf.

The Friday event at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport in Macon was packed and when Jones was in the crowd, dozens of unmasked Trump supporters touched him with their bare hands.

Jones, a Black Democrat who endorsed Trump’s reelection, gave the crowd a “pep talk,” before diving into the crowd, according to TMZ.

This event is not the first time Jones declared his support for Trump. During the Republican National Convention, he made a surprise appearance as a speaker.

“We believe Donald Trump is the president to lead us forward,” Jones said.

Jones also took the opportunity to bash members of his own party, mainly former Vice President Joe Biden, who is running against Trump as the democratic nominee, and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris.

As theGrio previously reported, Jones believes the Democratic party is taking the Black vote for granted, calling his experience in the party a “plantation.”

“The Democratic Party does not want Black people to leave their mental plantation,” Jones, 54, said during his virtual speech. “We are free people with free minds.”

“Democrats couldn’t do it. [Barack] Obama couldn’t do it. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris definitely couldn’t do it,” Jones continued. “But Donald Trump did. He’s also working every day to make our communities safer. …On issue after issue he destroyed these negative forces that have afflicted the Black community for decades.”

Jones first endorsed Trump on April 22 – the same day he resigned as a house representative.
