Ayesha Curry’s new blonde hair sparks Twitter debate, Steph Curry responds

Ayesha Curry posted a boomerang showing off her hair on Instagram

This weekend, Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, sent social media into a frenzy after revealing her new blonde hair.

Sunday evening, the cookbook author shared an Instagram post featuring her husband and her new platinum locks, which she noted would only be temporary.

“Mom goes blonde (temporarily).” Curry wrote in the caption to her Boomerang clip. However, that disclaimer didn’t stop fans and critics alike from chiming in on everything from her appearance to the state of her marriage.

“Ayesha curry look like a whole white woman with that blonde wig & makeup,” wrote one confused follower. “I really said ‘Steph left Ayesha for a white chick’ Then I read the caption & saw it was her post”

“Y’all made Ayesha Curry get fillers and now she look like a white woman,” wrote another, joining the chorus of those who felt the blond hair, apparent weight loss, and filter Curry used which lightened her eye color were merely an attempt to look more like a white woman.

But Steph Curry couldn’t let the evening go by without weighing in on the conversation, praising the mother of three for being “beautiful.”

“You beautiful baby. And don’t you let anybody tell you differently ok? I mean it,” the Golden State Warriors superstar, 32, wrote on instagram.

“P.S. If the wig falls off I won’t tell anybody, I promise. Pinky promise,” he quipped. “It be hilarious though, but won’t anybody know. Wait- that’s been you in this bed the whole time??? I ain’t even know. Now I’m tripping.”

“Whyyyyyy are you like this?!!!! I can’t. Whyyyyy,” his wife playfully responded, seemingly unfazed by the fact that both she and her hair are now trending all over social media.

Steph and Ayesha have been married since 2011 and share daughters Riley, 8, and Ryan, 5, and 2-year-old son Canon.
