Over a decade ago, she excitedly showed Malia and Sasha Obama around the White House as their new home. The 38-year-old revealed on the day of the photo, she left her job teaching in Baltimore to show the new First Family the hidden gems of the large home.

The first photo captured the young Obama girls accompanied by Bush Hager on the White House balcony. The second and third images are action shots of the sisters sliding down the stairs.

“Twelve years ago (!!!) today—I drove from my job teaching in Baltimore to meet my mom and sister in DC to show the next residents of this house their new home. Barbara and I taught the girls how to slide down the banister and all the secrets of the White House we loved as little girls,” she wrote on Instagram Monday.

“We showed them our rooms that would soon be theirs. Twelve years! PS I love my “teacher outfit” it makes me nostalgic for that time.”

Before the Instagram drop, the former first-daughter recently shared other memories of giving Sasha and Malia their White House tour. theGrio reported in October the nostalgic feelings of joining her twin sister Barbara to welcome the incoming sisters became one of her best memories.

“We gave them a tour of the White House,” she said at the time. “We showed them what was our bedrooms, which was going to become their bedrooms. We just had such a beautiful day because, really, we have so much more in common than what divides us — especially the kids.”

Bush Hager also shared that she still keeps in touch with now 19-year-old Sasha, and 22-year-old Malia, as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton.

“Chelsea and I see each other around — well, we used to. Now I don’t see anybody. We used to see each other around New York City. And I reach out to the Obama girls, and vice versa,” she said according to theGrio.  “There is a sisterhood because it’s so few of us, that we know what it’s like and the beauty of it and living history, and also some of the difficulties.”

The current White House under President Donald Trump has not shown any signs of a possible heartfelt transition, however. theGrio reported that despite President-elect Joe Biden being named the winner of the 2020 election, members of the Trump family and team have not extended a peaceful hand. According to the report, First Lady Melania Trump has thus far refused to meet with Dr. Jill Biden.
