Singer Jeremih hospitalized after contracting COVID-19

Jeremih is reportedly on a ventilator

Singer Jeremih is fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of a Chicago hospital, and his celebrity friends are asking fans to pray for him.

On Saturday, a number of celebrities announced online that Jeremih was ill, but they didn’t specify the nature of his illness.

Accordng to TMZ, it is unclear how long the R&B singer has been hospitalized or how long he’s had the virus, but the outlet wrote that his outlook is bleak. He is reportedly on a ventilator.

Word that he was seriously ill began circulating online when Chance the Rapper, 50 Cent and producer, Hitmaka and others asked for prayers on Jeremih’s behalf. 50 Cent was the only celebrity that directly stated that the singer had contracted the deadly virus.

50 wrote, “pray for my boy Jeremiah he’s not doing good this covid s*** is real.” He added, “he’s in ICU in Chicago.”

Chance the Rapper also hinted at the seriousness of the singer’s condition when he tweeted, “Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he’s like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him.”

“We need that energy. Pray for my brother. He gone shake back,” Hitmaka said.

Singer Willie Taylor wrote, “Sending prayers up right now for my cuddo mane Jeremih. Lord please show up and show out. We need you now!!!!”

Jeremy Phillip Felton known professionally as Jeremih, is a singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer. In 2009, after signing a deal with Def Jam Recordings, his debut single, “Birthday Sex” peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His success continued with three studio albums.
