Megan Thee Stallion slams Tory Lanez, ex-best friend on ‘Shots Fired’ track

Megan's highly-anticipated debut album gets kicked off with a song on which she addresses being shot.

Today’s the day star rapper Megan Thee Stallion released Good News, her highly-anticipated studio debut, and the album features a song called “Shots Fired,” on which she addresses being shot, allegedly by Tory Lanez. 

She also addresses her former best friend, Kelsey Nicole, referring to the pair allegedly conspiring to harm her.

“Good News,” the long-awaited debut album from rapper Megan Thee Stallion, hits eager fans of hers today, buoyed by the track, “Shots Fired.”

“You want the M’s, and not the top, I guess that made my friend excited / Now y’all in cahoots, you a puss in boots / You shot a 5’10” b***h with a .22 / Talkin’ ’bout bones and tendons like them bullets weren’t pellets,” Megan blasts on “Shots Fired.” “A pussy n*gga with a pussy gun in his feelings / Okay, he in the backseat and he keep callin’ me a bitch (He a bitch) / We all know this shit I coulda came back with (Lil’ ass n*gga).”

She continues: “He talkin’ ’bout his followers, dollars and goofy sh*t / I told him, ‘You’re not poppin’, you just on a remix’ (What’s poppin’?) / Now here we are, 2020, eight months later / And you still ain’t got no f**kin’ justice for Breonna Taylor (Breonna Taylor).”

The song, the opening track on her debut, features a sample from the 1994 jam “Who Shot Ya,” by Notorious B.I.G. 

Just this week, Lanez pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges via his attorney. 

The July 12 incident resulted in Megan being hospitalized for injuries to both of her feet. A month later, she did a tearful Instagram Live, in which she said, “Yes, this ni**a Tory shot me.”

“Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand,” she told viewers. “I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it.” 

Lanez has disputed the shooting on his album, Daystar

Good News also features appearances by Big Sean, DaBaby, City Girls and SZA.

The release of the album also coincides with the launch of Megan’s fashion collaboration with Fashion Nova, a collection that features jeans for tall women. 

“I’m really excited about My collection with @FashionNova because I was really tired of ordering Jeans from there and them mfs was fitting like capris ??? I know tall girls felt my pain,” she tweeted.

Megan was also recently named Rapper of the Year by GQ Magazine.
