‘People’s Choice Awards’ nominations announced, Kenan Thompson returns as host

The 2022 “People’s Choice Awards” (“PCA”) nominations are out! NBC and E! revealed the full list of nominees and that Kenan Thompson will host the ceremony, which is scheduled to air next month.

Lizzo received five nominations in several categories. She is up for Female Artist of 2022, Song of 2022 (“About Damn Time”), Album of 2022 (“Special”), Competition Show of 2022 (“Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls”) and Social Celebrity of 2022.

Beyonce and Drake each have three nominations. Both stars are up for Song of 2022 for Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” and Drake’s collaboration with Future and Tems on “Wait For U,” respectively.

This will mark the second straight year that Thompson will host the “PCA.” The Emmy Award-winning actor-comedian is also nominated in the Comedy TV Star of 2022 category (“Saturday Night Live”).

“I’m beyond excited to host the ‘People’s Choice Awards’ again this year and celebrate the incredible talent and fans that this show unites,” said Thompson in a statement. “I’m so grateful to be nominated — shoutout to the fans and congrats to all the nominees. Get ready for round two!!”

Fans have until Nov. 9 to cast their votes to choose the winners at www.votepca.com or on Twitter.

The 2022 “People’s Choice Awards” will air live on NBC and E! at 9 p.m. ET on Dec. 6 from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
