MIAMI — You’ve heard of consignment shops for clothes, toys and even wedding dresses, but now one south Florida store wants you to walk out with a vintage pair of sneakers.

Sneaker-heads can feed their fetish by heading to Air Traffic Control. ATC is a one of it’s kind sneaker consignment store located on Miami’s South Beach.

The store is modeled after an airport terminal, complete with sneakers spinning on a luggage claim style conveyor belt. The store specializes in exclusive and hard to find footwear.

Collectors buy several pairs of limited sneakers at a time, keep them “on ice”, and then flip them at ATC to make some cash.

“On ice” means that the shoes stay in the box, pristine and never touched. Collectors are willing to pay hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars for the perfect pair.
