Actress Nicole Ari Parker has invented a head wrap (called “Save Your Do”) to protect African-American women’s hair from sweat while they work out. Some black women have reportedly cited hair care as a reason that they’ve shied away from more intense exercise. Frugivore reports:
There is a nasty stereotype about black women that continues to be repeated so often it is now a legend: black women rather save their hairdos than workout. Even though all legends have a smidgen of truth behind them, for the most part, this legend, in particular, is not true.
