Don Cheadle won the Golden Globe for best actor in a TV Comedy Series for his role on Showtime’s House of Lies at last night’s award ceremony.

In the series, Cheadle plays Marty Kaan, the head of a team of management consultants who will do anything to close a business deal.

In a very competitive category, Cheadle beat out Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Matt LeBlanc (Episodes), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), and Louis C.K. (Louie).

Cheadle won the best actor in a supporting role in a TV miniseries Golden Globe in 1999 for his role in The Rat Pack.

He was also nominated for best actor in a Motion Picture Drama for Hotel Rwanda in 2005.
