The first word that comes to mind when thinking about Devi Brown is energy.

She resonates a positive energy that is not just experienced through meeting her in person but also when you listen to her on the radio or watch her on television.

The radio vet has spent more than a decade hosting shows from Los Angeles all the way to New York. She’s known for her innate ability to get the hip-hop industry’s biggest names to open up about their personal struggles and, sometimes, about her favorite topics: meditation, healing and spirituality.

Just ask Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar.

With her new venture, Karma Bliss, Devi, affectionately known as “Devi Dev,” is on a mission to help people connect with the worlds inside — and outside — themselves. Through Karma Bliss, a retail and lifestyle brand centered around four spiritual pillars — Meditation, Crystal Healing, Vision Boarding and Journaling — she aims to help people begin their path to self-discovery and to guide them as they explore themselves and their unique meaning of life.

What year was Karma Bliss founded?

Karma Bliss was founded in 2016.

What inspired you to launch your business?

I saw a void that needed to be filled between the space of wanting to improve yourself and being connected with how to actually begin. I wanted to help demystify that starting line. Karma Bliss is centered around crystals, journaling, vision boards and meditation.

What makes your brand/product unique?

The simplicity within which we present ourselves and the products we carry, from our meditation chairs to curated crystal collections.

Why should everyone #buyblack this holiday season?

We have to grow our communities and encourage more commerce, employment, mentorship and support within it.

How do you pay it forward within your community?

Aside from Karma Bliss, I am also a radio personality, so I try to pay it forward by connecting people in my community with resources, adventure and opportunities. I’ve also begun hosting free meditation meet ups in my area!
