Poll: Oprah outperforms Warren amongst Dems, but not Biden or Sanders

Oprah wins against Warren, Gillbrand but comes up short in potential matchups against Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.

A new Politico/Morning Consult survey has Oprah ahead of big Democratic names like Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand in primary matchups.

When matched up against Warren, Oprah wins 39 percent to 35 percent, while she beat Gillibrand by a much wider margin: 44 percent to 23 percent.

Still, even the #Oprah2020 craze has its limits, with popular options Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders outperforming Oprah in the poll. Biden wins against Oprah 54 to 31 percent, and Sanders wins 46 percent to 37 percent.

And that’s just among Democrats. Among all voters, Oprah wins against Trump in a 2020 race by a margin of 40 percent to 38 percent, according to The Hill.

A different poll shows more of a lead over Trump

This isn’t the only poll out matching Oprah against Trump in 2020.

Conservative-leaning polling house Rasmussen talked to likely voters after the Golden Globes speech that propelled the #Oprah2020 movement, and the numbers weren’t that surprising. 48 percent of likely voters said they’d vote for Oprah, with 38 saying they would vote for Trump and 14 percent undecided.

Obviously, the numbers were bigger among Democrats. 78 percent said they’d vote for Oprah, as opposed to 22 percent of Republicans and 44 percent of independents.

As for Trump, he got 66 percent of Republicans, 12 percent of Democrats, and 38 percent of independents.

Quinnipiac University National Poll released around the same time also showed that a slim majority of Americans consider Trump to be intelligent, but that’s where the good news stops for the sitting president.

According to the poll, 53 percent of voters say that Trump is intelligent, with 44 percent saying he’s not. But those numbers get worse for whether he’s level-headed; 69 percent say he isn’t. And as for whether he’s fit for office, Americans say 57 percent to 40 percent that he’s not.

What’s more, most Americans gave Trump very low grades for his first year in office. 39 percent of voters give him an “F,” while 17 percent give him a “D.” Only 16 percent gave him an “A.”

Looks like Trump has a lot to worry about, especially if Oprah does decide to run.
