TRAGIC: Don Lemon’s sister dead at 58 from accidental drowning
58-year-old, L’Tanya “Leisa” Lemon Grimes died in Louisiana on Wednesday after reportedly falling into a pond and drowning.
Don Lemon has lost his older sister.
According to reports, L’Tanya “Leisa” Lemon Grimes died on Wednesday after an accidental drowning in a pond she fell into in Louisiana. She was 58 years old.
“The Lemon/Grimes family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and prayers at this time. Our family has suffered the tragic loss of L’Tanya ‘Leisa’ Lemon Grimes,” the family said in a statement to PEOPLE.
“We are leaning on each other for strength at this time. We appreciate privacy as we grieve the loss of our loved one.”

The CNN anchor confirmed the sad news of his sister’s passing on social media on Thursday.

Since the tragic news broke on Thursday, tons of friends, foes and fans have been posting messages of support to Don Lemon and his family.
