Jordan Peele’s Get Out was a huge hit with critics and moviegoers alike, and it looks like Peele isn’t opposed to more from that world.
Peele told The Hollywood Reporter that he wouldn’t be against the idea of a Get Out franchise, saying, “I will definitely, seriously consider it.”

And considering the fact that the movie was produced by Blumhouse Productions, which is known for horror franchises like Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge, a franchise isn’t exactly a longshot, either.
But the main problem keeping Get Out away from sequel territory? Peele doesn’t have a story for it.
“I love that universe and feel like there is more story to tell. I don’t know what it is now, but there are some loose ends… you know the movie,” he said.

So we’ll just have to wait and see if the muse strikes Peele so we can go back to the Get Out universe.
In the meantime, Peele has said repeatedly that he has plenty of ideas and plans to keep addressing “social monsters.” He’s already got an untitled 2019 project, and if the success of Get Out is any indication, we’re hoping this will be another knockout.

‘Get Out’ is a huge success
Get Out won the award for Best Original Screenplay at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and it’s up for four nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards.
In fact, the film was so successful that it’s going to be playing in some theaters ahead of the Awards themselves, which air on Sunday, March 4.

The film has found its way into social consciousness, too, with the “sunken place” now a common reference. That’s how you know you’ve made a film with real impact: people are still talking about it a year later.
But until Peele decides it’s time, it looks like the Get Out universe will have to stand as it is… for now.
