Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes have been notoriously private about their relationship and it seems that may be by design.
On Friday Feb 16th, Foxx was preparing to play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game when an interview with SportsCenter‘s Michael Smith took an awkward turn.
Smith mentioned photos of Foxx and his rumored girlfriend Katie Holmes playing basketball together on Valentine’s Day, saying, “I know you’ve prepared and I saw pictures. Did you and Katie Holmes play basketball for Valentine’s Day? Like some real Love & Basketball?”
Without missing a beat Foxx reached for his headphones and walked off the live ESPN broadcast – leaving viewers stunned.

According to Us Weekly, Holmes’ friends were upset about the incident.
“Katie’s friends don’t get why she’s still with him,” a source close to the Ocean’s 8 actress, 39, explains in the new issue of the magazine. “They found his comments quite interesting.”
“She knows he was joking,” says another Holmes insider. “She loves his sense of humor and doesn’t take a comment like that personally or seriously.”

“Katie and Jamie have an agreement that they’ll never talk about their relationship or each other in the press,” the source shared, adding that Holmes “appreciated” how the father of two handled the ESPN inquiry: “She felt he was respecting their agreement. They spend as much time together as they can. They really are in love.”
