This year’s Academy Awards were full of history-making moments thanks to stars like Mary J. Blige, Jordan Peele, and Kobe Bryant, but the show’s ratings plummeted by 20% compared to last year’s telecast.

We’ve got the perfect fix for the annual award show’s tanking viewership—Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph!

The comediennes stole the show with their hilarious banter and proved that they’re the perfect pair to host next year’s show.

Here are 5 reasons these funny ladies should host the Academy Awards in 2019:

1. Their chemistry is undeniable.

Who knew that the first Black female comedian to host Saturday Night Live would work so well with one of the show’s most famous alums? The ladies back and forth banter was a display of perfect timing and genuine chemistry that the whole room could feel as they waxed about their blistered feet and abundance of white folks on deck.

2. They can read a crowd.

The star-studded crowd loved the ladies’ bit and celebrities like Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, and Daniel Kaluuya could be seen howling from their seats as Haddish and Rudolph delivered laugh after laugh.

3. It would be ground-breaking.

Despite the fact that movies like Get Out and Mudbound nabbed nominations this year, there’s always a noticeable lack of color in the winner’s circle. Having two Black women host the event could provide some much-needed melanin to the broadcast and encourage a whole new audience to tune in to the usually drab event.

4. The show could use some more color…and estrogen.

Only three women have hosted the Academy Awards in 20 years and only two people of color (Whoopi Goldberg and Chris Rock) have ever hosted the show. Putting two Black women together could start leveling out the years of white men (23 in 30 years) we’ve seen hosting the show.

5. It’s what the people want.

After their amazing showing on this year’s Oscars stage, plenty of people have already insisted the pair deserves to host next year’s show. A petition that was launched on Care2 has already received nearly 10,000 signatures.

“At the 90th Academy Awards show last night, Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph presented the award for best short documentary and documentary — and they just killed it. From the moment they walked on stage with their heels in their hands, they were hilarious — more so than the actual hosts at the Oscars have been in years,” says the petition.

We agree! #HaddishRudolph2019
