True Crime: Why teen was killed by best friend just days away from graduation
Nicholas Glasco was just a month away from his high school graduation and a week away from celebrating his 19th birthday when his family said he was shot and killed by his best friend, reports Atlanta’s Fox 5.
The family is devastated after finding out that Glasco was shot by Dean Dunkley. When they arrived, the teen was in critical condition. He later died at a local hospital.
“Nicholas was the type of person that was a kind boy. He never went out and hung out in the streets. He was a homebody,” his grandmother said.
Hs friend, 18-year-old Dunkley was arrested and charged with murder after witnesses identified him as the shooter. He is being held at the Dekalb County jail, according to reports.
The family is searching for answers and said the two young men had been best friends for years and both were looking forward to graduating from high school in May.
“It was shocking to all of us when we got the call.” Glasco’s cousin Bryana Tyesaid. “Never thought someone like this—he was just a good guy period.”

As police search for a motive, Glasco’s Instagram may have alluded to some clues about the confrontation with his friend. Three says go, the teen posted:
“I’m done getting mad. I just gotta expect the lowest from people. Even the ones I expected the highest from.”
His friends have now posted RIP messages under that comment.
The family is vowing that they will fight for justice.
“I pray justice Dean gets life without parole,” Bryana said. “Just give his family closure to why and what really happened.”
