It seems a Missouri teen thought it was a good idea to copy the same racist promposal that got a Florida student in deep trouble just last week.

According to the Huffington Post, a student at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles asked a girl out to prom with a sign stating:

“If I was black, I’d be picking cotton, but I’m white so I’m picking u 4 prom?”

These kids go to school and still ain’t learned better.

After a picture of the poster board with the racist promposal scribbled on it went viral on social media, school officials stepped in to say they are investigating.

“The incident is being investigated, and while the District cannot share information about the discipline of specific students, any student that uses demeaning speech and language will receive consequences in accordance with the FHSD Code of Student Conduct.

“The Francis Howell School District and Francis Howell High School work to promote inclusion, acceptance, and equality for all students and staff.”

Shockingly it was reported just last week that Noah Crowley, an 18-year-old student at Riverview high school in Sarasota, FL, decided to woo his potential prom date with the original offensive message.

The recipient of the racist promposal allegedly responded in the affirmative with two heart-eye emojis on Snapchat.

Numerous people reacted to the viral photo on social media. Many expressed their disgust (but not necessarily surprise) at this type of insensitive and inappropriate behavior in 2018.

And in the age of social media and the longing to go viral, maybe this kid’s copycat attempt was just a way for him to get some likes.

But his community dislikes this very much—and rightfully so. Check out the video.
