It’s almost time for the premiere of the highly-anticipated documentary, Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story and Black Thought just debuted a new music video from the project’s soundtrack.

The video features snippets from the upcoming film produced by Jay-Z set behind powerful lyrics from The Roots‘ frontman.

“The shooter was unthreatened, seventy-one seconds/So many unanswered questions, I see reflections of myself/I feel like in fatherhood we are connected/Too long before the shooter was arrested/So wrong, worldwide, we’ve been affected/To them it’s real, sins of the father remembered still/For every Trayvon Martin, there was an Emmett Till,” he raps.

According to Billboard, all of the profits from the song’s streaming will go to The Trayvon Martin Foundation.

The song and the movie highlights the tragic 2012 murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was gunned down by self-appointed neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman.  The killer’s trial and subsequent acquitted ultimately helped to spark the Black Lives Matter movement.

“We want to make sure that we stand and support and we never forget [that] Trayvon serves as a beacon of light to the people out here, so you guys never have to go through the pain and hurt that these guys went through. His name will sit alongside some of the greats [who] lost their life to push our culture forward—the Martin Luther Kings, the [Gandhis]; that’s the intention that we set, that his name serves as a beacon of light and hope, and pushes us into a better direction,” Jay-Z has stated.
