Jennifer Lopez will receive MTV’s Video Vanguard Award at VMAs

Jennifer Lopez has been hard at work across many platforms including television, feature films, and the album charts and now her hard work is paying off.
The singer/dancer/actress/producer will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards on August 20. The love event will go down in J. Lo’s hometown of New York City, making it especially special for the multi-talented entertainer who somehow managed to host World of Dance, sell-out shows, and star in projects on the big and small screens.

Lopez will be the seventh woman ever to receive the coveted award since 1984 and she’s in good company, joining the ranks of Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Pink.
According to the network, Jennifer Lopez will take the VMA stage for the first time in 17 years to perform her current hit “Dinero” on the big night and we can’t wait to see if she will be joined by new mommy, Cardi B, who is leading the pack with ten nominations.

Jay-Z and Beyonce, now known as The Carters, nabbed eight nominations for their latest single, “APES**T.” The power couple is up for best collaboration, best hip-hop, and video of the year for the mesmerizing video that was shot at The Louvre in Paris. No word on whether or not they’ll perform at the show but our fingers are crossed.
