The movie is based on the Derek Haas penned book series Wanted, which tells the story of a man who becomes the most feared and respected hit man in the criminal underworld, Deadline reports.

According to the movie description: Jordan plays an assassin who is so effective he becomes what Russian criminals call a silver bear: he never fails, and he seems immune to the stresses of his work. But he comes up against his own nightmarish origins when he takes on the job of killing the Speaker of the House, who is also a leading presidential candidate—and Columbus’ father.

Michael B. Jordan (Michael Bae Jordan, if you will) has his fineness on full display once again as the cover model for the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

And seeing him shirtless and running in the new trailer for Creed II, is prompting fans to count the days until the film hits theaters on November 21.

The sexy AF Black Panther star will reprise his role as Adonis Creed in the sequel to the 2015 film that introduced him as the unrelenting athlete with a major cross to bare.

The trailer shows Creed struggling to decide whether or not he should take on Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) the son of the man who killed his father, Apollo Creed in Rocky IV. In case you missed it, Apollo died in Rocky Balboa’s arms in the 1985 film and now Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) is Adonis’ greatest mentor.

“If we don’t do what we love, then we wouldn’t exist,”  Jordan says in the trailer.

We also see Adonis’ girlfriend, Bianca (Tessa Thompson) feeling neglected and pondering the future of their relationship. Phylicia Rashad will return as his Mary Anne Creed, Adonis’ stepmother.

Check out the official synopsis:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

And filming has also begun on Just Mercy, a legal drama starring Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson.

The film is an adaptation of Bryan Stevenson‘s powerful book about a graduate of Harvard Law School who heads to Alabama to defend people who have been wrongly accused of crimes.

“One of his first, and most incendiary, cases is that of Walter McMillian, who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for the notorious murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite a preponderance of evidence proving his innocence and the fact that the only testimony against him came from a criminal with a motive to lie,” a studio synopsis said. “In the years that follow, Bryan becomes embroiled in a labyrinth of legal and political maneuverings and overt and unabashed racism as he fights for Walter, and others like him, with the odds — and the system — stacked against them.”
