EXCLUSIVE CLIP: Michael B. Jordan talks ‘Creed II’: “It’s very emotional”

'Creed II' hits theaters November 21.


We can’t wait for Michael B. Jordan to show off his talents in the ring again when Creed II hits theaters and we’ve got a sneak peek at what’s to come.

The actor who stars in the film as Adonis Creed opens up about what makes the sequel so special and how his character is growing into his power the second time around.

“In this movie we wanted to explore Adonis being humbled and then being reborn and becoming the man he really wants to be,” Michael B. Jordan says in the exclusive clip.

His costar, Tessa Thompson, who plays his love iterest, Bianca in the flick explains that Jordan’s character is fighting for self-discovery in the highly-anticipated film.

“Adonis has to figure out that what you’re fighting for is something bigger than just yourself,” she says.

Meanwhile, Sylvester Stallone, who returns as Creed’s mentor, Rocky Balboa, reveals that his character spends much of the movie worried about what is at stake.

“Adonis feels like he should avenge his father but Rocky is afraid that history is going to repeat itself,” he says.

Now that Adonis Creed has become a father, he has a whole new kind of motivation behind him as he attempts to battle his biggest adversary yet.

“He has a daughter now who he has to come back to because he’s not going to repeat his father’s mistakes,” he says. “It’s very emotional. The action is there, the fights are there…I think we found the right combination.”

The film will also feature Andre Ward, Wood Harris, Sugar Ray Leonard, Ray Jones Jr., and Evander Holyfield. Creed II is directed by by Steven Caple Jr. and co-written by Ryan Coogler and Cheo Coker.
