Jay-Z and Beyonce throwing pre-Oscars gig, but it’s a no-fly zone for social media pics
In order to avoid 'embarassing photos' and possibly stemming from the #WhoBitBeyonce hashtag from a year ago, the Carters say snapping social pics won't be allowed
Mr. and Mrs. Carter are banning photos and all social media from their pre-Oscars party in the name of privacy, and fun, celeb culture website Celebretainment reports.
Nearly two weeks after the Roc Nation pre-Grammy brunch, and a few days ahead of the 91st Annual Academy Awards, Beyonce and Jay-Z have decided to host their annual pre-Oscars party. This will be Jay and Bey’s second year in a row throwing the grand bash at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont, but unlike the Grammy-party, no flicks are permitted.
An unnamed source for UK newspaper The Sun confirmed to Celebretainment that Beyonce and Jay simply want to ensure the privacy of their guests, as well as avoid any “embarrassing snaps,” from the party:
“Bey and Jay have put a series of tough measures in place to ensure none of their guests upload any embarrassing snaps from the party,” the source said.
They went on to add that the power couple is reportedly requesting that guests also leave their security teams at home:
“They want to keep the whole thing top secret, and have ordered celebrity guests to leave their own security teams at home so there is space form everybody else,” the source said.
Around this time last year, actress Tiffany Haddish went on record recalling another private party with Beyonce and Jay-Z, in which Haddish claims that Beyonce and an unknown actress nearly got into a tussle over mystery lady getting too close for comfort to her husband.
“Beyoncé came walking up like ‘B*tch!’ She ain’t say that, but her demeanor and her body language and the way she walked up on her was like ‘Get your hand off my man’s chest,’” Haddish playfully recalled, sending social media into a #WhoBitBeyonce frenzy.Shortly after, Beyonce released the lyrics for her “Top Off,” track, singing: “If they’re tryna party with the queen, they gon’ have to sign a non-disclosure.”, which many felt was a response to Tiff spilling the tea on Bey.
Fast forward to a year later, and The Carters have a no-phone policy to party, but no word on whether the situation between Haddish and The Carters are related.
