Friends of R. Kelly’s girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage, claim he assaulted her the first time they met

Friends of Joycelyn Savage have allegedly told federal investigators that R. Kelly sexually assaulted her during their very first encounter together when she was still an underaged minor.

Joycelyn Savage, one of the girlfriends of embattled R&B singer R. Kelly, has allegedly confided to friends that he had sexually assaulted her the first time they met. Now, it appears that those friends, in turn, have told that story to federal investigators.

Additionally, The Blast reports that sources close to the ongoing federal investigation state that Kelly’s ex-employee, Cheryl Mack arranged to have Savage flown out to Tulsa, Oklahoma back in 2015, for that first meeting.

Savage, an aspiring singer, was flown in on Kelly’s dime for a chance to perform privately for him. The Blast was told that once she arrived in Tulsa, she met and performed for Kelly in a hotel room. She was asked to remove all of her clothing except her underwear and walk for Kelly, who then forced her onto the bed and sexually assaulted her.

Though Joycelyn did not contact authorities to report the assault, she is said to have confided that information to at least two friends–her voice coach and the woman’s son.

It is also alleged that the voice coach and this woman’s son reached out to Savage’s parents and also tried to convince her to stay away from Kelly. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to work and she took off with the singer.

The Blast’s sources were told that this week, the two friends met with investigators and provided information about the interaction. The evidence included an audio recording of a phone call between Jocelyn and the voice coach where it is alleged that the aspiring singer describes how Kelly controls her life. The coach also is said to have a three-way call between herself, Kelly and Jocelyn where he offers criticism of her voice and discusses her future career.

Kelly, during his CBS News interview with Gayle King, vehemently denied taking advantage of Jocelyn by pretending that he was going to help with her singing career, but instead met with her because she was a fan.

The Blast was also told that Savage’s family wanted to press criminal charges at the time, but didn’t because Jocelyn was the only witness and she would not cooperate with authorities. In recent phone conversations when Savage has spoken to her parents, they have expressed that Kelly is controlling the conversation behind the scenes.

Their hope at this point is to be able to have a face-to-face meeting with their daughter, who they have not seen in years. They believe that the evidence provided by the coach will strengthen the case.

Savage is just one of the singer’s current girlfriends. The 23-year old shares him with the other,  co-girlfriend, Azriel Clary.
