Reports have come forward that Paris Jackson was hospitalized this weekend after she allegedly attempted suicide.

According to TMZ, family sources believe she may have harmed herself in large part due to the fallout from Leaving Neverland, the HBO documentary series that alleges her father Michael Jackson molested Wade Robson and James Safechuck when they were children.

TMZ reports, “Law enforcement sources tell us police and EMS responded to Paris’ LA home at 7:30 AM. We’re told Michael Jackson‘s only daughter slit her wrists. Our sources say she was transported to a hospital and placed on 5150 hold. She’s currently in stable condition.”

Paris Jackson is Jackson’s only daughter and the image of her weeping after his death in 2009 is burned into the mind of many longtime fans of the singer. Since his passing she has been a vocal advocate of her dad and maintained her belief in his innocence to the public. But now sources are saying that behind closed doors the renewed scandal has caused turmoil within the Jackson family.

Earlier this month, an unnamed source told The Sun that Jackson had reportedly told close friends she is anxious about the film’s impact on her budding acting career and may stop it from taking off altogether.

“She was in a movie last year but believes the documentary is already scaring directors away because the abuse her father is accused of may put movie goers off her,” said the insider.

“It all comes down to marketing,” the source continues. “The worry is that any movies she stars in will be derailed if Michael’s abuse scandal is all people think about when they see her on screen.”

TMZ’s sources say Jackson is currently being closely supervised by a team of doctors.
