Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’ co-stars reveal that she’s engaged and we’re the last to find out

Did Issa Rae’s Insecure co-stars let the cat out the bag that the multi-hyphenate star is engaged?

Man claims on Instagram Live that he killed Nipsey Hussle

It seems like it, since Yvonne Orji and Jay Ellis both confirmed that they learned “in different ways,” that Rae is engaged to her longtime beau Louis Diame, while they walked the NAACP Image Awards red carpet.

The couldn’t wait to spill all the tea, Complex reports.

“We’re very excited for her,” Orji said. “We all found out in different ways because we’re all on different text chains,” Ellis added. “We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways.”

Well. We’re certainly the last to get that memo since Rae hasn’t officially announced anything of the sort to her throngs of fans.

But she did wear a stunner of a ring on her Essence cover and that could very well be viewed as an engagement ring in our eyes.

Issa Rae ain’t Insecure

In an interview with Essence about fame, insecurity, weight and learning to accept her “otherness,” Issa Rae is showing that she’s still fierce after three complete seasons of her hit HBO show Insecure and is ready to tackle new projects

In the interview Rae, 34, recounted a story to the magazine for its April cover story about reading a backhanded compliment directed at her on Twitter that gave her an epiphany. She said it all went down while she was in New Orleans filming the romantic comedy, The Lovebirds.

In interview, Issa Rae shows she’s anything but ‘Insecure’

“In my mind I’m just like, I’ve got to lose weight. I’ve been wanting to lose weight all these years, and I’ve been basically pussyfooting. I really need to step it up. The TV show gave me an excuse. You start to become more cognizant of your appearance,” Issa Rae dished to Essence. “But I realized the response to that changed recently. Because I was looking through tweets maybe a couple of months ago, and these girls were shading me but backhand-complimenting me about how wack I was. And one of the tweets was, ‘And that stupid b*tch! If I looked like her, then I would never feel insecure.’ And I was like, What?!”

And fans can catch Rae in the upcoming Will Packer comedy, LITTLE, where she stars opposite Regina Hall and Marsai Martin.
