A white middle school coach in Louisiana was caught on video pinning down a Black female student in a violent altercation.

A white middle school coach in Louisiana was caught on video pinning down a Black female student in a violent altercation that was caught on video and made national headlines for his aggressive handling, ABC News reports.

The coach appears to forcibly slam the student to the ground Thursday, March 28 at Ponchatoula Junior High School near Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana.

In the video the coach appears to press his knee into the girls chest while yelling and threatening the student, “You’re gonna be still or I’m gonna stomp your ass on this concrete.”

Another man steps in and holds the students legs up.

“Calm down and I’m gonna let you up,” the coach said.

Althea Abron, the girls’ mother is outraged and says her daughter is traumatized.

“It just traumatized her,” Abron told the outlet.

“She’s having a hard time. She doesn’t feel safe.”

Abron said a group of girls were trying to beat up her daughter and the two men held her daughter down, trying to restrain her.

“Now I’m making jokes and my baby got jump (sic) at school and I’m pissed!!!they held my baby down!!!and jump her im (sic) looking for these lil girls,” the post read.

The Tangipahoa Parish School System released a statement about the incident:

“We are deeply saddened by the incident on the video,” Melissa Stilley, superintendent of schools, stated. “This behavior does not represent the expectations we have for the adults and students on our campus. We are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and actions are being taken.”

Stilley told New Orleans ABC affiliate WGNO that the school would “continue to work together to create a safe environment for all stakeholders.”

The school is still investigating and there’s no word on if the coach was disciplined for his actions.
