Tracy Morgan takes jabs at Jussie Smollett on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’

Star of "The Last O.G.” jokingly gives his opinion on the Jussie Smollett controversy.

During a recent visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan reacts to Jussie Smollett controversy.

Jussie Smollett can’t escape the scorn of comedians like Chris Rock and now Tracy Morgan who recently used his alleged fake hate crime episode as comedic fodder.

Morgan appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the second season of his Fox show, The Last O.G., and a cookbook with the same name. And in Tracy Morgan fashion, Fallon could hardly contain the comic who took several unapologetic shots at Smollett, Page Six reports.

Monday night, Morgan said he too will appear on Empire after landing a role and said in order to keep it, “all I gotta do is not fake a hate crime.”

Chris Rock ROASTS Jussie Smollett at NAACP Image Awards: ‘What a waste of light skin!’

“Yeah, they gave me a role on Empire,” Morgan started off. “Contractually, they gave me millions of dollars. Contractually, all I gotta do is not fake a hate crime.”

“Jussie!” he called out, making it clear who he was targeting.

Morgan admitted that he doesn’t believe Smollett’s claim that he was attacked in Chicago in late January, basically because it was too cold.

“C’mon. First of all, racist people don’t be jumping nobody in the polar vortex,” Morgan joked. “‘It’s too cold, we be racist in the spring.’”

“He didn’t let that Subway sandwich go!” Morgan said.

Smollett going to have to take all these jokes and jabs on the chin because surely they’ll keep coming.

Earlier this week, the NAACP Image Awards celebrated a whirlwind year of #BlackExcellence. When Chris Rock hit the stage, he couldn’t help but go in on Smollett and the ongoing controversy surrounding the EMPIRE star despite warnings to leave him out of his set.

“They said no Jussie Smollett jokes,” he said before going in. “What a waste of light skin. You know what I could do with that light skin? That curly hair? My career would be out of here. I would be running Hollywood.”

Rock made it clear he’s not standing for Jussie Smollett, even though some other famous faces made a point to voice their support for the embattled actor and singer.

“What the hell was he thinking? You are ‘Jessie’ from now on. You don’t even get the ‘u’ anymore. That ‘u’ is respect. You ain’t getting no respect from me,” he joked.
