Comedian Kevin Hart has begun opening up to his fans about the hardships he’s had to faced during his recovery from a serious auto crash in September. Now the woman who was in the car with the actor during the accident has broken her silence as well, according to The Blast.
“Feeling so much better! We are both healing! Jared is well on the road to recovery after having major back surgery! We are doing physical therapy together a few times a week!” wrote Rebecca Broxterman, personal trainer for Hart’s wife Eniko and whose fiancé Jared Stanton was driving the the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda owned by Hart when it went out of control and down an embankment, colliding with a tree. She wasn’t seriously harmed, but Hart and Stanton were critically injured and hospitalized.

“Our relationship is stronger than ever and we have so much to be thankful for! Life can take you in many different directions and we are just so happy to be here for it all! We have felt so much love these past 2.5 months and that doesn’t go unnoticed! So thank you to each one of you! This is our journey… it will have ups and it will have downs but we will always have each other. @thejaredstanton I love you so much and am thankful that we are doing life together!” she concluded.
The California Highway Patrol determined the cause of the accident was reckless driving, according to CNN. According to police reports, the car accelerated down the scenic, but winding Mulholland Highway near Malibu, Calif. when Stanton lost control of it. Hart was in the passenger seat next to him, while Broxterman sat in the back. Authorities determined that Stanton was not under the influence when the accident took place.
