Verbal sparring matches between Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain on ABC’s “The View” are not new, but a Monday wordplay duel over the congressional impeachment inquiry of President Trump went in an entirely new direction.
According to USA Today, Goldberg, who usually does a good job of skating around McCain’s often polarizing viewpoints, seemingly snapped and exchanged heated words with the vocal conservative and launched an afternoon buzz all across the social media universe.

During the debate co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that senators who voted to impeach President Bill Clinton but not Trump were guilty of showing a clear double standard stating, “That is the height of hypocrisy for this Republican-led Senate.”
While the audience cheered her sentiments McCain interjected, “My job is to analyze the politics of it. And I’m telling you — “before Hostin cut her off to finish her thoughts.
“But I’m not talking about you,” Hostin continued. “I’m talking about the people that are the senators…”
“Just let me finish. I let you talk, let me finish,” McCain pushed forward as the other hosts began speaking over each other.

When she curtly questioned whether the other women “wanted to hear a conservative perspective on this show ever,” that’s when Goldberg snapped.
“Girl, please stop talking, please stop talking right now,” she sternly warned McCain.
“No problem, I won’t talk to the rest of the show, no problem,” McCain sarcastically clapped back with a laugh.
“I’m OK with that,” Goldberg retorted nonplussed. “If you’re going to behave like this…”
“I’m not behaving like anything,” McCain replied, to which Goldberg quickly answered, “You are!”
