The social swap does not stop with Twitter. On Thursday, Alexander will take over Clinton’s Instagram profile for the full day. Sharing an artistic flyer for the virtual event on Instagram, she notes the broadcast will include “great talk, lots of laughs, and a John Lewis “Good Trouble” tribute!”
According to Variety, the special guest list is featured with politicians, directors, and Hollywood talent, including her former Living Single costars. This includes live conversations with Stacey Abrams, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rev. William Barber, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Aunjanue Ellis, Ledisi, Jose Antonio Vargas, and more.
The film’s director Dawn Porter will also be partaking in the discussions.
The film campaign also has in-person promotions plans that align with current social distancing mandates. Variety reports that on Aug. 6 the Good Trouble campaign will host a drive-in screening of the film in Atlanta, Georgia. Representatives of organizations such as Black Voters Matter, CivivGA, and VoteRiders will be in attendance to help distribute voting rights resources.
According to the film’s official website, Good Trouble “chronicles Lewis’s 60-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health-care reform, and immigration.” Directed by Porter, Alexander joins a team of producers including Porter herself, Laura Michalchyshyn, and Ben Arnon.
