The Aquaman star covers the December issue of Men’s Health and opened up about the beginning stages of his marriage all the way through his household life through quarantine. The couple began dating in 2005 after he worked up the courage to approach Bonet. The 41-year-old said he was “a mess” when she was 38 and he was 26 and gave advice to others who may find themselves in his old shoes.

“Especially when you meet someone you’re completely infatuated with and then find out she’s amazing, intelligent, and funny and she’s a goddess and you’re a degenerate,” he remarked. “I was a nervous wreck. I really don’t have any tips. Be you. Try to be funny and make her laugh.”

He shared that together, he and his family have spent time together during the COVID-19 enforced quarantine doing hands-on activities. Their children, 13-year-old Lola and 11-year-old Nakoa-Wolf, do not have phones and the family home does not have televisions.

“I can’t believe it—they love reading,” he said to the magazine. “I’m like, ‘Stop reading! Get outside.’ It’s insane.”

The excess time together has made them pull together, he revealed.

“We’ve all gotten so much closer,” Momoa said. “My wife is very sophisticated and smart and (our kids and I are) kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better. I’m constantly a work in progress, and I’ve just been trying to get better as a father and a husband.”

Bonet was once married to rocker Lenny Kravitz and the two men get along quite well, to the surprise of many observers. Per theGrio Kravitz covered the October issue of the same magazine and he discussed his great relationship and love for Momoa. After the mag came out, Lisa Bonet became a trending topic due to the two men’s respect for each other.

“People can’t believe how tight Jason and I are, or how tight I still am with Zoë’s mom, how we all relate,” Kravitz said, according to the report. “We just do it because that’s what you do. You let love rule, right? I mean, obviously, after a breakup, it’s work—it takes some work and time, healing and reflection, et cetera. But as far as Jason and I? Literally the moment we met, we were like, ‘Oh, yeah. I love this dude.’ ”

Momoa himself shared the same sentiments saying  “Lenny is way cooler than I am.”

The actor also told the publication that after filming Aquaman 2 he will get to work on his dream role, a project he co-wrote that will shoot in Hawaii. After he completes that, Momoa hopes to explore new character types.

“Romantic-comedy lead, the nerdy best friend, anything,” he said to Men’s Health. “I would love to do it, but so far nobody will hire me for it.”
