The lineup of the 2022 Governors Ball Music Festival was announced on Tuesday. J. Cole and Kid Cudi will be two of the headliners for the festival.
Taking place June 10-12, the 11th annual New York City music festival will feature Cudi as the headliner of day one and Cole as the headliner of the third and final day. Pop singer Halsey will headline day two. The festival will feature over 60 performances at Citi Field in Queens.

Joining Cudi on June 10 is a dynamic collection of artists that include hit-making Atlanta trio Migos, British grime rapper Skepta, Brooklyn rapper/producer JPEGMAFIA and Texas soul duo, Black Pumas.
Preceding Halsey on June 11 will be Grammy-winning rapper Roddy Rich, Long Beach rapper YG, Florida MC Denzel Curry and a DJ set by NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, under his moniker, “Diesel.”
For the final night, J. Cole will follow labelmate J.I.D., powerhouse vocalist Jazmine Sullivan, Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti and two-time Grammy-winning DJ KAYTRANADA.
This will be Cudi’s second time co-headlining Governors Ball. He headlined the festival’s second year in 2012 with Grammy-winner Beck, electronic indie outfit Passion Pit and rock band Modest Mouse. Few artists have headlined Governors Ball more than once; others include frequent Cudi collaborator Kanye West (2013, 2016) and rock singer/songwriter Jack White (2014, 2018).
This will be the second year in a row that Governors Ball will be held at Citi Field, the home stadium of the New York Mets. Until 2021, the annual festival took place at New York’s Randall’s Island.
This year will also see the festival return to its regular month of June. The 2021 Governors Ball took place in September, largely because the 2020 iteration was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky was among the 2021 headliners, along with Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and J Balvin. The 2020 festival was scheduled to take place at Randall’s Island before the shutdown.
The Governors Ball began in 2011. The first year was only a single day and had a modest, eclectic lineup of 12 acts, including Big Boi of Outkast, and late Pittsburg rapper/producer Mac Miller.
Tickets for the 2022 Governors Ball will be available starting Thursday at 12 p.m. EST.
