Naomi Campbell poses with daughter for the first time on British Vogue cover

"She wasn't adopted – she's my child," the model tells the publication.

Naomi Campbell poses with her 9-month-old daughter for the cover of British Vogue‘s March issue — giving fans their first look at her dark-haired beauty.

“She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child,” the fashion icon tells British Vogue, noting that not many people knew she was planning a journey into parenthood.

“I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her,” she shares. “But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Campbell, 51, announced back in May that she welcomed her first baby. At the time, she shared a heartwarming Instagram post and a photo of her cradling her newborn daughter’s feet.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love,” Campbell captioned the image, theGrio reported. She tagged her mother, Valerie Morris-Campbell, in the post as well, who also posted the picture to her own Instagram page.

Morris-Campbell shared at the time that she is “thrilled” to be a grandmother, writing in her own caption: “Congratulations to my daughter Naomi on the birth of her daughter, I’m beyond thrilled as I’ve waited a longtime to be grandmother. ❤️? @Naomi.”

Campbell tells British Vogue that she “always knew that one day I would be a mother,” adding that “…it’s the biggest joy I could ever imagine. I’m lucky to have her and I know that.”

When asked if she’s open to having more kids, Campbell said “why not?”

“I’m reliving nursery rhymes, playing and discovering how many great new toys there are out there in the world! And dolls! Things I couldn’t even dream of,” she says.

“Everything I do, I do for her – that’s it. It’s so completely selfless, isn’t it?” says Campbell of her newfound focus in life.

“My daughter comes first,” she tells British Vogue

“I’m lucky my little one loves to travel like me – no whimpering taking off or landing,” the proud mother says. “She’s a good girl: she sleeps very well, she hardly ever cries and I’m told she’s very alert for her age. She’s just started waving, which is fun. She laughs a lot. She’s almost talking,” Campbell shares, adding, “I think she might walk before she crawls. And she’s got six teeth already.”

In an interview with BBC HARDTalk, Campbell opened up about becoming a first-time mother just before turning 51. She explains, “I’m really lucky, I think I have a dream child. She’s wonderful, she’s so very independent already.”

She also explained that she is going to instill all the values she grew up with to be a strong, independent woman. “Right down to the hygiene part,” she adds, referencing her meticulous cleanliness.

Campbell has decided to keep her daughter’s name private.
