Producer Will Packer shared in a statement that this year's ceremony is 'all about uniting movie lovers'
We are a little over a month away from the Oscars, and the Academy just dropped who they chose to host the biggest night in film. As first reported by Variety on Monday, comedy staples Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer are set to guide viewers through the big night on March 27.
Packer, who was announced as producer of the 94th Oscars last fall, shared in a press release from the Academy, “This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles. I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well. Many surprises in store! Expect the unexpected!”
In a joint statement, Hall, Schumer, and Sykes shared, “We want people to get ready to have a good time. It’s been a while.”
All three women have impressive careers in entertainment and are known for their comedic chops. Hall has certainly made her mark, from her earlier films like Scary Movie and The Best Man, to her roles in Girls Trip, Nine Perfect Strangers, and the upcoming, Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul.

Schumer, an Emmy, Peabody and Critics Choice Award winner, is known for writing and starring in Trainwreck, and for her roles in I Feel Pretty, The Humans, and more.
Academy President David Rubin and Academy CEO Dawn Hudson also shared in the statement, “We’re invigorated by Will’s vision for this year’s Oscars: celebrating movie lovers alongside moviemakers and spotlighting fan favorites that prove how cinema can unite us all. Hosting this star-studded party are three powerful, funny women inviting us to laugh and cheer for the year’s best and brightest in film.”
