A Philadelphia grand jury has vindicated a group of police officers caught on video beating three suspects.

According to the district attorney the grand jury concluded the police officers did not use excessive force while attempting to apprehend three suspects after a car chase in May 2008.

Aerial footage recorded a group of officers surrounding the suspects’ vehicle, pulling them out of the car, and beating them.

The district attorney says the officers considered the suspects armed and dangerous, however they did not hit them once they were in handcuffs.

Philadelphia’s police commissioner fired four of the officers involved in the incident and disciplined four others.
