In light of the discovery of raided graves at the cemetery where he was buried, theGrio looks back at the life of lynching victim Emmett Till.
Till was 14 when he left Chicago to visit his family in the segregated South. Two white men accused him of making a pass at a white woman and Till was brutally murdered.
Today, Till’s original casket was found rusting in a shack, although there is no sign that his grave was disturbed in an alleged scheme to re-sell graves.
