A recent study from the Cleveland Clinic found that permanent hair loss affecting African-American women can be linked to very tight hair braiding and wearing weaves. The Grio explored the topic earlier this week. What do you think of this report’s findings? Will this change the way black women do their hair?

The findings also found that Type 2 diabetes disproportionately affects black women, and those with type 2 diabetes had the most significant hair loss. Are you surprised by the relationship between this disorder and hair loss?

Do you put relaxers in your kids’ hair? Although relaxers weren’t part of the study, doctors recommend waiting before using them on children. Do you agree? Does the information in the study make you think twice about how you do your hair?
