After 72 days of marriage, and $15 million earned from broadcasting her glamorous wedding on E!, Kim Kardashian will be filing for divorce today. According to TMZ, Kardashian will not be seeking annulment and cites that her and soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries will be divorcing over “irreconcilable differences.”

Kardashian has hired the renowned divorce lawyer Laura Wasser who has handled the high profile cases of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Reynolds.

According to the New York Daily News Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian have been fighting on and off since their wedding in August 20th.

Tensions between Humphries and Kardashian were evident in the show as the couple fought over wedding arrangements, money and Kim being materialistic.

The Kardashian-Humphries divorce is in the top three trending topics on Twitter.
#ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage and #kimkmarriagewasshorter have already become popular hastags and some are comparing Kardashian to one of her idols, Elizabeth Taylor, albeit in a negative light — because of that late icon’s numerous failed marriages.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” Kardashian said in an official E! statement. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
