Whitney Houston’s death has sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry and to those who listened to her music all over the world. Members of Houston’s home church in Newark, New Jersey, New Hope Baptist, were especially saddened to learn of the Grammy-award winner’s tragic end.
Less than 24 hours since the news of her death broke, the church held regular Sunday services which undoubtedly focused on Houston and her grieving family. It was at New Hope where Whitney first honed her vocal skills as a member of the church choir. TheGrio.com’s Todd Johnson has more.
