Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa took criticism of President Obama’s recent Supreme Court remarks to a new extreme recently, calling him “stupid” in a tweet. Obama has said he is confident the Court won’t overturn his signature health care reform legislation. The Huffington Post reports:

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) expressed his disapproval of the president’s recent comments about the Supreme Court, apparently referring to Obama as “stupid” on Twitter.

Obama, who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, said Monday that he was “confident” that the Supreme Court would not strike down the Affordable Care Act, because to do so “would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”

In a tweet sent Saturday morning, Grassley said he wasn’t “outraged” by the president’s statement because he believes the American people “r not stupid as this x prof of con law.”
