Kanye West missed a performance at Provocateur, a pop-up nightclub in Cannes, to have dinner with girlfriend Kim Kardashian Wednesday night.  West is in Cannes to show his 30-minute art film Cruel Summer. The film is about a thief who falls in love with a beautiful, blind Arabian princess. In the film, the royal’s father tells the thief that he can marry his daughter if he can make her see. West attended the films premiere with Kardashian, Jay-Z and Kid Cudi.

A source in the South of France tells us the hip-hop artist, who was in town to show his 30-minute art film, “Cruel Summer,” blew off a planned club performance to have an intimate dinner with his current companion Kim Kardashian.

According to the insider, West was supposed to join the star of his picture, Kid Cudi, for a “surprise performance” at the Provocateur pop-up nightclub in Cannes following the premiere of his movie.

Cudi did end up performing to a crowd that included Jay-Z (who was also at the screening), but Yeezy and his squeezy made a brief appearance, then ducked out early for some quality time with each other.
