Lisa Marie Presley was married to Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, and during that time he apparently suffered from insomnia.

Julien’s Auctions, in Beverly Hills obtained a handwritten letter from the King of Pop to his then-wife, Presley, in which he vents about his lack of sleep.

In the note, written sometime between 1993 and 1996, he says: “Smell here [arrow with box] Lisa I truly need this rest I haven’t slept litterally [sic] in 4 days now. I need to be away from phones and Business people. I must take care of my health first Im’ [sic] crazy for you.”

He signed the note, “Love, Turd,” which was presumably a nickname of his.

The auction house recently decided to remove the letter from the auction which is scheduled to take place December 2.

In a statement to TMZ, the founder of Julien’s Auctions, Darren Julien, said the company removed the letter due to a request from Presley. “I’m assuming it’s a personal nature, and we wanted to honor the request and continue our good relationship with Ms Presley,” he said.

A selection of Jackson’s glittery gloves, spangled jackets and stage costumes are still slated to be auctioned.

Jackson struggled with insomnia for much of his adult life. His personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, revealed to police after Jackson’s death that the “Thriller” singer pleaded for help sleeping during a long, restless night at his home on June 25, 2009, the day he died.
