NBC Charlotte – A Charlotte woman is accused of pouring a pan of hot grease on her neighbors during a fight Sunday.

Regina Terry, 33, is facing seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon and seven counts of malicious maiming after throwing hot grease on her neighbors. Two women and their six kids were injured during the incident on Polk Street just north of Uptown.

Richmond County authorities arrested Terry around 1 a.m. Monday after a tip from CMPD.  Terry was transported back to Mecklenburg County around 3 a.m.

Neighbors say Terry had an ongoing dispute with the McLean family — two sisters and their children who lived next door.  The two families live in the Greenhaven Apartments on Polk Street in the Greenville community off Statesville Avenue north of uptown.

“This is not the first time her daughter has had an altercation with a woman in the neighborhood,” said a woman who asked not to be identified about Terry’s daughter.

“It never gets physical.  They just argue,” said a man named Barry, who asked that his last name not be used.

Neighbors said one of the McLean sisters was on the phone with police about the latest fight when Terry threw hot grease into the McLeans’ apartment, hitting a sister, her mother and several of the children.

Several of the neighbors heard the children scream.

“I heard screams, and I immediately thought it was the television,” recalled neighbor Lajerra Robinson. “It was so loud, it was so vivid, it just sounded like something like a horror movie.”
